You will need to demonstrate a proven ability and willingness to study and develop your skills and knowledge to successfully complete the Regulatory Compliance Officer qualification.  As well as being able to work on your own initiative and work with a range of consumers, businesses and other partners, you will also need to have excellent communication skills and experience of customer service.

Our Trading Standards Service protects residents and communities from unfair trade practices, and supports businesses into compliance, using innovative and problem-solving approaches to this regulatory role. If you are looking for a new, varied, and challenging career then this could be the opportunity for you.

This is a training contract and successful completion of the qualification is a condition of this employment. In order to complete this Apprenticeship, you will need five GCSE passes (including English and Maths Grade A-C), at least two at advanced level (or equivalent).

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment.

This apprenticeship is the first step towards a career as a professionally qualified Trading Standards Officer. Throughout this apprenticeship, you will be supported to develop the foundation skills and knowledge needed to enforce statutory duties and responsibilities.

Starting in September 2022, you will join our Trading Standards team and receive a thorough induction, training and support to enable you to learn the skills and knowledge needed for the role.
