Caretaker - 30 Hours per week - 52 Weeks per year

Grade 5 - £20,043 - £21,269 (pro rata)
St John’s Primary Academy is committed to providing caretaking support to ensure the effective operation of the Academy.
We are looking to employ a highly motivated with a “can do” attitude Caretaker to join the team at the Academy. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas in accordance with the required standards set by the Academy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the security of the site to ensure all heating systems, plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively maintained. Duties around maintenance and cleaning are also expected to be fulfilled including clearing blockages from toilets, drains and sinks and ensuring gullies and drains etc are kept free from debris.
Candidates with a trade such as plumbing, painting/decorating, carpentry or electrical would be desirable although not essential. The undertaking of porterage tasks will also be required including the setting up and clearing away of furniture. Support to the Facilities Manager will also be expected with regards to the management of Health and Safety on site.
The Caretaker will also be expected to provide support to the Academy through promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and young persons that they come into contact with. An adherence to all relevant policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection will be expected at all times.
Hours of work will be: 07.30am – 2.00pm (Mon – Fri).
