About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to support our delivery of practical science lessons. This role will involve preparing resources, organising laboratories, maintaining equipment and providing practical support for the science staff. Blue Coat Church of England School has a large and successful Science Department with a history of excellent examination results and a strong focus on experimental skills, supported by our eleven well-equipped laboratories and team of experienced technicians.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills
  • Is able to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Has a sound knowledge of Science and a desire to learn more
  • Previous experience as a science technician would be an advantage but full training will be given

 

All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and, familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.
