Assistant SENCO with specific responsibility for the leadership and management of the school’s two Nurture and SEND classrooms.

To Commence as soon as possible (subject to satisfactory clearance checks)

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional SEND Teacher who is looking to further develop their career, providing valuable assistance to our current SENCO. This post provides an exciting opportunity to develop leadership and management qualities through the management of two Nurture/SEND provision classrooms within school. The postholder will work under the direction of our Assistant Head teacher (SENCo and Inclusion Lead)

Stow Heath is a two-form entry school with happy, enthusiastic pupils, and strong partnerships with families and the local community. At our Ofsted inspection in May 2017, Stow Heath was judged to be a good school in all areas and we are aiming for continuing improvement towards ‘outstanding’.

The postholder will be responsible for delivering and coordinating the daily teaching, planning, assessment and pastoral care for two separate nurture/SEND classrooms within school for pupils with moderate learning needs from the Early Years to Year 6. The postholder will have line management responsibilities for the teaching assistants who work within these two classrooms.

The postholder will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher (SENCo and Inclusion) and report to the School Leadership Team as well as liaise with local authorities and external agencies to support the varying learning and pastoral needs of the pupils.

This is an exciting time to join the school as Stow Heath has been named as one of the schools’ selected for the next round of the DfE’s School Rebuild Project with a brand new school likely to be built within the next few years.

We need a passionate and determined teacher to lead teaching, learning and assessment within this provision along with the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing Body. In return, we can offer training and CPD to suit your individual training requirements as well as a committed, friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team.

If you have experience in this area and are ready to take the next step in your career, we would like to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed prior to the submission of your application and can be arranged by contacting our school office on 01902558820 or email stowheathprimaryschool@wolverhampton.gov.uk for an application pack or further information
