We require a passionate and committed person (qualified or instructor) with sports responsibilities at the Braybrook Centre to deliver at key stage 3.

Applicants will be expected to have:

  1. Experience of working with young people with SEMH and particularly challenging behaviour.
  2. A proven track record of good communication and organisation.
  3. An interest in all aspects of the curriculum and inspirational ways to deliver it.
  4. Experience of planning/delivering sport and coaching based sessions.
  5. Experience of providing appropriate interventions to meet pupil’s unmet needs.
  6. An understanding of health and safety and a willingness to attend training/CPD.

 

Job Overview: 

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Braybrook Centre as we develop our exciting curriculum.  To meet the demands of the young people, the role of general teacher with sports responsibilities is essential.  The right person will confidently plan, develop and embed the sporting sessions for the new curriculum.  Working closely with the Assistant Heads for Quality of Education and Behaviour and Attitudes, this position will complement the provision whilst developing skills and personal development for the young people.  A qualified teacher/instructor will create and deliver engaging lessons to a diverse group of young people at all levels considering group and individual needs and learning styles. To inspire, motivate and promote enthusiasm for learning and for the subject, adhering to national curriculum standards.

Lawnswood Campus is home to three Pupil Referral Units, The Braybrook Centre, The Midpoint Centre and The Orchard Centre which includes The Nightingale Home and Hospital Service serving the schools in Wolverhampton as part of a city wide strategy to promote inclusion and positive behaviour in safe, secure, child-centred, positive and nurturing environments.

  • Braybrook: Key Stage 3 children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and includes a Student  Support Centre and Outreach Service;
  • Midpoint: Key Stage 4 children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and includes a Student Support Centre and Outreach Service;
  • Orchard: Key Stage 3 and 4 children and young people who require social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) support;
  • Nightingale: KS2-KS4 specialist short stay Centre that works in partnership with key agencies to offer appropriate intervention to vulnerable students with medical and mental health needs in a supportive and structured setting;
  • LITS: Lawnswood Integrated Therapy Service is specialist provision consisting of Counselling Psychologists and trained Counsellors offering a range of therapies which include Humanistic, Cognitive, Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Systemic modalities. The clinical work is underpinned by evidence- based practice.

  • We communicate closely with parents, carers and school staff to help them to overcome the difficulties experienced by their child or young person and provide opportunities for them to work with their child or young person in reflecting on their behaviour, identify coping strategies and identifying how giving time and praise helps the behaviour change process.
