Apprentice Financial Information Officer (Apprentice Grade 6)

Salary:  £12,761 - £18,327 per annum (salary may be age dependent from year 2 onwards)

37 Hours per week – fixed term whilst undertaking apprenticeship

An opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and motivated Accountancy team, helping Staffordshire to face the issues currently challenging local government.

Our Accountancy Division provides a range of services with the aim of providing strategic financial advice, securing the stewardship of assets, supporting effective decision making and enabling good financial management.

Applicants should possess 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above or equivalent (including Maths) and if successful will participate in the Accountancy Apprenticeship standard.  

Some work experience is desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of Local Authority and its functions as well as have a basic knowledge of accounting and budgeting.

Applicants should have good numeric, literacy, ICT and keyboard skills as well as use application software.

The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across various departments and to work flexibly and creatively to meet changing priorities

This position will have access to the Public Sector Network, to meet government security standards we will request a basic criminal convictions certificate and other background checks prior to appointment for the successful candidate.
