Do you have a passion and interest in developing a career in finance?  Are you willing to work towards an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification, as part of an Apprenticeship, while gaining hands on experience?

If so then we have a great opportunity for a number of Finance Apprentices level 3 & 4 to gain skills, experience and knowledge in a busy finance service whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Upon successful completion of your AAT studies and depending upon your performance, you may have the opportunity to study for an Assistant Accountant Level 7 Apprentice (such as CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or IAEW) for development into a Finance Business Partner role.

These roles have become available due the successful progression of our current Apprentices onto Level 7 apprenticeships or permanent finance roles. We now have a great opportunity for a new cohort of Finance Apprentices at level 3 & 4 to gain skills, experience and knowledge in a busy finance service whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

As an apprentice you will:

  • work alongside experienced staff
  • gain job-specific skills
  • earn a wage and get holiday pay
  • study towards a related qualification

Finance is a highly skilled profession, with staff working at many different levels.  Our aim is to support individuals to undertake an Apprenticeship standard with a relevant training provider and this will include 20% off job training at a training centre, whilst providing an opportunity to gain the job related skills required in support of this. You may be required to travel. Blended working (working from home, office, study) may be appropriate for these job roles - this will be discussed at interview stage if you are short-listed.

The posts are for a fixed term of up to 21 months (18 months level 3, 21 months level 4), and will be paid for 37 hours per week (which would be split between office work and attending a training provider to undertake training).

We are looking for a motivated individuals willing to undertake an Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship who meet the following criteria:

Assistant Accountant Level 3

Achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or higher and a level 2 Accounting Technician or equivalent.

Assistant Accountant Level 4

Achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or higher and a level 3 Accounting Technician or equivalent in Finance.

In your application please indicate which Level you are applying for.

Please note that to be eligible you must have achieved the entry qualifications at the time of applying.

Offers of employment are subject to funding requirements around eligibility criteria and confirmation from the training provider.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.
