Hours: 30  Hours per Week

This role is for 30 hours per week and is fixed term for 12 months.  This opportunity is a part-time position and the hours/days worked will be discussed with the team manager to suit individual requirements.

Solihull Children's Services is looking to recruit a Business Support Assistant to support the Youth Justice Service.  The role of Business Support Assistant is to provide and coordinate the work of the Youth Justice Service, taking a lead role in the provision of administration, information support and tasks that allow the Youth Justice Service to function efficiently.

 

Working closely with the Business and Information Officer, your duties will include:

  • To provide full administrative support to the Youth Offending Service.
  • To undertake the proactive tracking of key information and performance data ensuring that data quality is maintained.
  • To effectively and accurately record information at meetings and ensure that the Youth Justice Service system is updated within agreed timescales.
  • To support the Youth Justice Service workers in diary management, arranging venues and coordination of meetings.
  • To act as a key contact for all incoming enquiries, building relationships with young people, carers, families and other professional to handle issues effectively and with sensitivity and discretion.
  • To be responsible for the processing of invoices, raising purchase orders, provision of petty cash and cash orders.
  • Maintain information systems, computerised and manual.
  • Collating and providing statistical information as and when required

To be considered for this role you will have 4 GCSE’s including Maths and English at Grade  A* -  C (or equivalent) Or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in Business administration. 

You will have previous experience of working in an office environment and will be able to demonstrate numeracy and literacy skills, as well as good communication skills. Experience of using a range of computer packages and applications including Microsoft Office (or similar) is also essential.
