Warwick District Council is seeking to expand its busy Procurement Function through the addition of a 3-year fixed term Procurement Business Partner. The role is career graded, so whether you have only a few years’ experience in procurement or are fully qualified and experienced Procurement Professional, we are looking for you to join our team.

The Council is an ambitious organisation that is striving to respond to community challenges and delivery of its Social Value vision (in particular regarding tackling Climate Change) in a very challenging commercial and economic climate. As a result, we are undertaking several high-profile procurements such as: building a new country park, building new social and affordable housing, and implementing several large-scale decarbonisation initiatives. All this while preparing for the introduction of the new Procurement Act, expected in 2023.

We are looking for an environmentally conscious individual with great communication and relationship management skills that would like to be involved in tackling the procurement challenges facing the public sector and make a real difference in achieving best value for the public purse while supporting the global fight against Climate Change.

The post holder will also be required to lead on several high value high profile procurement projects; and therefore, require knowledge and experience of using PCR2015 compliant tendering procedures such as Competitive Dialogue and Competitive Negotiation, as well as experience of working with Senior level stakeholders.

As the role is career graded, the post holder is not required to have or be working towards their CIPS qualifications with the Charter Institute of Procurement and Supply; however, possession of MCIPS qualification will affect what salary point you will be offered. For successful applicants with no CIPS qualifications, you will be expected to undertake a CIPS level 4 apprenticeship as part of the role.

This role is based at our Riverside House offices in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. This role is full time, though flexi time and agile working is available. The intention is for this jobholder to work remotely, however, office working is available if necessary. It is a requirement of the role that the successful candidate be available to attend the office when required.
