The Role- Level 2 Teaching Assistant Nursery

(Part time or full time – please see advert information below)

We are looking to recruit a Level 2, Grade 3 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated nursery team. You will need to have the recognised EYFS qualification for staff: child ratios for the early years setting. We have two fixed term part time vacancies at Woodside Primary School however both positions can be combined as a full-time fixed term contract.

You will be employed on a temporary contract, linked to pupil numbers in nursery. You will be contracted to work 16.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Friday). Your actual salary will be £7,128.

If both positions combined your annual salary £14,257 per annum.

The successful candidate will have energy and enthusiasm to work with children aged 2-5 years, will be observant and will be motivated to engage in reflective practice and a researching approach. You will have a passion for play, learning outdoors and indoors, working as a member of a team and will be an effective communicator with an interest and understanding in child development linked to some relevant work and/or life experiences.

You will:

  • Be an effective practitioner with the ability and desire to improve their practice
  • Have high expectations of yourself and others
  • Have a proven record of working in a nursery/EYFS environment
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be highly organised, motivated and flexible with the ability to inspire and challenge children
  • Be able to promote the vision and values of the school, demonstrating high professional standards.
  • Be Level 2 qualified in a relevant/recognised childcare qualification.
