Apprentice Vehicle Technician
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and work at the same time and gain real employment experience within the Council.
Dudley Council’s total fleet size is 450, ranging from small vans to refuse freighters, and a full range of grounds maintenance and other ancillary equipment. Meeting the challenge of maintaining our vehicles takes the combined efforts of a team of specialist Vehicle Technicians.
As an Apprentice Vehicle Technician you will:
• Work towards your NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Be supported by experienced mentors who will guide you through your
• Gain invaluable experience and develop the fundamental skills required to pursue
a career in Heavy Vehicle maintenance and repair.
The Apprenticeship is delivered in conjunction with Walsall College and you will be expected to attend college as part of your training.
The programme is being offered over two 18 month contracts. Upon successful completion of your NVQ Level 2 during the first 18 month contract, you will then be offered a second 18 month contract during which you will work towards your NVQ Level 3.
