About Us and The Role

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team in securing the best care placements for our Children in Care.

Rated Ofsted Good in November 2021, Warwickshire County Council is a top performing two tier authority, with a reputation for innovation and efficiency. If you can match our ambition to drive Warwickshire County Council forward we would like to hear from you.

We have an opening for two Referral and Placement officers (RPOs) following the investment into a new Placement Hub. The role of the RPO is to secure placements with external providers including Independent Fostering Agencies (IFA), Residential provision and Supported Accommodation.  This role does not involve any direct work with children and young people.

From April 2022 WCC will be delivering services to support children in care and their families through a new placement hub. The hub will manage and coordinate activities such as placement requests for children in care, wraparound support to families and carers through to engagement and relationship management with provider services of accommodation-based provisions.

Working directly alongside experienced social workers and RPO’s you will be inducted and become a have a firm place in the teams primary objective, that being to support our most vulnerable through sourcing and sustaining their care arrangement.

To Apply:

Whilst supporting statements are helpful, we are keen to hear specifically about your transferable skills and experiences as part of the application process. Please could answer the following three questions under the ‘personal/supporting statement’ section of your application.

1 – The placement hub is a fast paced and dynamic working environment, what skills and experience do you have that you can bring to support you and the team in managing changes in pressure and demand.

2 - Please tell us how, or provide an example of when, you would/have managed a successful negotiation.

3 – Data quality and management is a critical activity in the placement hub.  Please tell us about your knowledge and experience in working with data.
