About Us and The Role

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join our brand-new team supporting children and families. You will join a dedicated and innovative team built on existing expertise and developing new ways of working that is co located with multi-agency partners, including Children’s Social Care, Warwickshire Police, Compass, and Barnardo’s.

 

The team works with young people exposed to all forms of exploitation and extra-familial, including sexual and criminal exploitation as well as County Lines and trafficking. Social Workers are supported to work more directly with young people and partners, using a range of interventions and resources to reduce harm and build safety for a young person alongside collaborative working with partners to target and disrupt concerns.

 

We are looking for a someone who will work creatively and collaboratively with young people and their families. You will be passionate, committed and solution-focused, evidencing restorative principles within your practice. Experience of working with young people and an ability to form positive relationships is essential. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your own practice and skills with training in Restorative Practice and Motivational Interviewing. You will work in a supportive environment and will have regular supervision and support and the opportunity to develop close working relationships with other teams within Children and Families and wider partner agencies. Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Working with young people targeted for or entrenched in exploitation.
  • Undertaking complex assessment of need, initiating, and managing plans of action, and completing agreed direct work and intervention with children and families to support a reduction in their risks.
  • Supporting social work assessments, MACE processes, mapping of linked associations and connected concerns, and referrals to outreach services.

 

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
