We are recruiting a Principal Planning Officer to the Policy team to progress a raft of Development Plan Documents and Supplementary Planning Documents. This includes the review of the Local Plan and Gypsy and Traveller Development Plan Document. If you enjoy a challenging and diverse workload this is the role for you. You will provide supervisory oversight for planning officers within the team as well as providing policy oversight for the Council’s ambitious work programme. We welcome applications for those wanting to take the next step in their career as well as those who are already experienced at operating at this level. You will need to have a relevant degree, knowledge of the current planning legislation and possess excellent communication and advisory skills.

For an informal discussion about this role, please call Ashley Baldwin Head of Planning and Building Control (024 76 376146)

Furthermore, as an employer that has embraced agile and flexible working, the Council recognises the importance of an appropriate work/life balance and supports employees to develop and grow.

This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
