It is an exciting time to work for Worcester City Council. Our city centre has bounced back from Covid and is thriving. We are home to topflight cricket, rugby and basketball clubs, a centrally located racecourse and major annual running and cycling events. The birthplace of Elgar and home to a wide range of Heritage Assets, our tourism sector is growing year on year. We have successfully secured £29.11m Future High Street Funding and a further £46.9m of Towns Funds to develop and enhance our city centre officer. We are looking for a confident individual who is flexible, creative and can reflect our positive and ambitious approach to the future.

We are looking for someone who can lead on these ambitious plans, developing our tourism offer and ensuring the future of the High Street. You should be a people person, able to build positive relationships with business and the public and provide influence and support to bring stakeholders on the journey with us. You will be a confident manager, able to lead a team and manage and support the range of exciting events and activities throughout the City calendar. With day-to-day responsibility for Economic Development staff and the Tourist Information Centre Team, you should be a confident and positive line manager able to inspire and develop a creative team.

The sucessful candidate will be/have;

Educated to degree or equivalent level (NVQ4) is desirable.

Event management experience is desirable and experience of delivery in the visitor and tourism sector is essential.

Evidence of continuous professional development by relevant professional or management training and experience.
