We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Assistant to join our Family Information Service.
Working as part of a busy and dedicated team you will provide an eligibility checking service for funded early education places for 2yr olds, taking a lead in the development and maintenance of a central database to store and retrieve details of applications, check eligibility, liaise with parents and childcare providers and external agencies and support the on-going development of the Family Information Service.
You will also be required to provide support to the free school meals function within the Family Information Service, carrying out eligibility checks and liaising with parents and schools as required.
To be successful in the role you will be an experienced administrator with strong literacy and numeracy skills. You will pride yourself on providing high levels of customer service, be a good team player, have good attention to detail and will thrive on working to tight deadlines in a busy office environment.
Some knowledge and experience of Early Education Funding and the Family Information Service would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be given.
In return, we can offer a fantastic opportunity to develop your experience and skills within a friendly and supportive team, and be involved in continually improving the service we offer to parents, childcare providers and schools. And working for Solihull means that we can offer employees a great working environment. We are currently implementing our Smarter Ways of Working as we recognise that work is what you do and not necessarily where you go. Our aim is to balance the needs of our employees with service delivery and, for the majority of our roles, to enable our people to be able to work remotely wherever possible. We also offer a range of other flexible working options, attractive staff discounts and a career average pension scheme.
Please contact Tom Cure, Senior Information Officer on 0121 704 6537 or thcure@solihull.gov.uk, or Rosie Ratcliffe, Family Information Service Manager on 0121 704 6072 or rratcliffe@solihull.gov.uk if you would like any further information regarding the role.
Interviews will be held on Friday 9th September 2022.
Please note we are not accepting CVs for this position.
