The Role

Grade 10 – Starting Salary £38,553 rising to £42,614 per annum

The Business and Enterprise Service of Staffordshire County Council sets strategy and direction and creates the conditions for growth in Staffordshire’s £18 billion diverse economy.   

The post will be based in Staffordshire Place 1 in the centre of Stafford, but the County Council uses smart flexible working which includes home and agile working. The post is a permanent full-time position based on a Monday to Friday working pattern. Applications are welcome from those who would like to job share.

We seek enthusiastic and self-motivated people for the Funding, Business and Enterprise Team, who will support economic development in Staffordshire. The team oversees a broad range of services, and this post is responsible for managing a varied portfolio of business support projects to reflect strategic and organisational need. These projects include business startup programmes and the Growing Places Fund.  The post also includes initiating, coordinating, and delivering bids to UK funding programmes.

The postholder will be expected to develop a proactive approach to external funding through pursuing alternative sources and assisting the County Council to participate in bidding processes. They will work on the production of funding plans and funding bids that support the delivery of long-term economic and infrastructure plans for Staffordshire by working with Senior Managers on their pipeline projects. They will also work on the development of externally funded business support projects and be responsible for ensuring programme criteria and procedures are followed to guarantee successful project completion.
