We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Community Development Worker to join our growing Community Development Team, Stronger Communities.

As a Community Development Worker you will work with residents to identify, support and develop community led activity to help create additional ‘Places to go, Things to do, People to talk to and Listen’.  Enabling people to build up strong social connections and have access to a range of diverse community activity.

This is an extremely varied and interesting role and excitingly you will have the opportunity to not only work with our fabulous residents but also work in partnership with a range of stakeholders including statutory organisations, voluntary and community groups.

To be successful in the role you will motivated, able to communicate clearly and passionate about wanting to make a positive impact on the communities of Solihull.  You will also be

  • Educated to Level 4 or above with a qualification in relevant field (e.g., community development, community & youth justice) or have substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Have experience of community development work and/or capacity building with informal groups and other organisations.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the challenges affecting disadvantaged neighbourhoods, and be able to positively identify opportunities and support community led solutions effectively.
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including individuals and communities to address issues and barriers and improve outcomes.

Evening and weekend work may be required.
