Development Management

Planning Enforcement Apprentice - 18 months

£177.97 per week

37 hrs per week.

Working in our Planning Enforcement team our Planning Enforcement Apprentice will work alongside the Planning Enforcement Officers, providing administrative support to officers and a full range of customer service support including face to face, telephone and by email. 

You will also be undertaking an NVQ L3 qualification in Business Administration. 

You will be based in Telford - a destination of vibrant places and experiences where people love to live, work and play. Sitting in the heart of Shropshire, Telford is the gateway between the Midlands and Wales.  Rich in heritage and natural beauty, the borough has a vibrant town centre that’s currently expanding and a 450 acre town park with numerous leisure facilities;

Being part of Development Management ensures you will play a part in the development and creation of creative and positive places for those who live and work in Telford, building a safe and sustainable environment for future generations to enjoy.

To support the Development Management Planning Enforcement Team, providing administrative support to officers and a full range of customer service support including face to face, email and by telephone.

Assisting the Enforcement Technical Support Officer with the management of requests for historical data, adhering to data protection and ensuring correct fees are taken.

Support the Principal Enforcement Officer and Planning Enforcement Officers where necessary, undertaking site visits to gather evidence and accompany officers from the Enforcement team to site visits and meetings.

To study for a Business Administration Level 3 qualification under an apprenticeship route

The post holder will be expected to study for a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration and must meet eligibility criteria for apprenticeship funding through the ESFA (not hold a Level 3 or above in a similar work area and be resident of England).

The post holder must be prepared to work towards the achievement of maths and English at Level 2 as part of the apprenticeship (if not already achieved).

Experience of IT systems.

Basic IT skills of Microsoft packages.

Good communication skills.

Numeracy and good levels of literacy.
