Job Details

Are you passionate about the whole digital and data agenda? Do you have the drive and determination to help us shape the next phase of our digital evolution? Are you proactive, with the ability to quickly engage and build rapport with key stakeholders? If this is you, we’d love for you to apply.

The Digital and Data team has recently been revamped. We are creating a high performing team that can provide excellent support to the complex multi functions of the WMCA. Our key aim is to deliver a robust, high-quality customer-focused Digital and Data function to our stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a time when we’re modernising our ways of working and delivering significant advancements in our digital services – and your expertise will help develop and shape our future vision and implement cutting edge technologies.

What will you be doing?

Our role profile sets out what this exciting senior role will be responsible for. We need someone who’ll be part of our D&D management team, who can provide positive leadership to a small team, and who’s dynamic and get things done.  It’s all about how you interact and influence at a senior level.

Here’s some of the technical stuff you’ll be experienced in: people management, business process management, mapping, modelling and optimisation methodologies and working across multiple technology domains on large complex projects.

But equally important is how you fit with us and how we fit with you; we’re committed to delivering a modern, high-quality, customer-focused Digital and Data function and, as Lead Business Analyst, you’ll play a huge part in making this happen.

About you

As a Lead BA you will be a key translator between departments, possessing the ability to provide clear communication across the board and simplify technical terminology. You'll have experience of working with key stakeholders, utilising influence to provide a user centric experience, and be able to define new sets of standards for the team to adhere to.

Proven BA experience at this level is needed: Pre-Project, Scoping, Estimating, Mapping, Stakeholder Analysis, Requirements Gathering, Solution Analysis, Product Analysis, User Acceptance Testing and Release Management.

This is a new function for this department, so you'll need to be open minded - focusing on developing and delivering the needs of the team through a continued period of growth. In addition, you'll be comfortable with ambiguous situations i.e. potential uses and appropriateness of emerging technologies, identifying & ensuring exploitation of opportunities and evaluating and mitigating any foreseeable risks, and have a breadth of understanding largescale application development & implementation, specialising in optimisation of the business process design & its alignment with product design.

Furthermore, wherever possible we will offer flexible working options which assist work-life balance. We are very happy to discuss a flexible working pattern that suits your needs, so please do not let that be a barrier to applying. If your values align with ours and you’re committed to working towards creating a future we can all be proud of, we want to hear from you.

About your application

You will be asked to upload an up-to-date CV and a supporting statement which demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria for the role for which you are applying.
