About us and the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Early Years and Childcare Entitlements, Sufficiency and Business Team at Warwickshire County Council for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team.

The role has a key focus on business sustainability and place sufficiency of early years and childcare places including funded entitlements in line with Warwickshire’s Statutory duties.

The purpose of this role is:

  • To be responsible for working in partnership with Private, Voluntary, Independent (PVI) providers, childminders, schools including academies and out of school provision with a business focus to maintain and create places and ensure statutory compliance linked to early education funding and place sufficiency.
  • To support and assist with monitoring Early Years and childcare providers in line with meeting the Local Authorities statutory duties regarding early education funding entitlements

The post will involve working with  providers across the county as part of a team of officers alongside the lead commissioners of the Early Years and Childcare Services and other Warwickshire County Council teams, supporting delivery of the full remit of the Local Authorities statutory duty for early years https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-education-and-childcare--2 

The successful candidate will work 32 hours per week with existing and potential early years and childcare providers to assist in facilitating the delivery of sufficient sustainable, high quality early years and childcare places. 

This role involves providing direct support and advice in relation to the business sustainability and place sufficiency of early years and childcare provision and ensuring that early education funding has been claimed in accordance with funding conditions.

The successful candidate will be open minded, flexible and able to assist with the development of new ideas and initiatives and use their sector knowledge to support this. Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide challenge in a way that facilitates change, whilst sustaining positive relationships and engagement is essential.
