Job Details
The opportunity has risen for the appointment of a Building Control Surveyor within the Development Planning and Building Consultancy Service Area at Sandwell MBC. The successful candidate will support the activities of the Building Consultancy Section under the control and guidance of a Senior Building Surveyor.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons looking to advance their career in public service building control. You will be expected to be working towards level 5 competency and all necessary training will be provided up to level 6 if desired.
The successful candidate will join a team of eight Building Surveyors who are working on a wide range of projects from domestic extensions and new housing developments to schools and the landmark Aquatic Centre for the Commonwealth Games. They will be expected to undertake the assessment of a range of Building Regulations applications in line with their ability and experience.
The successful candidate will also be required to carry out site inspections as required and investigate allegations of unauthorised work or dangerous structures as necessary.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND Building Construction or relevant BSc
- Eligibility for full membership of a relevant professional body.
