The Role

An exciting opportunity for an Adult Education Tutor with a maths specialism has become available within our English, Maths & ESOL team!  This full-time, part-year role involves teaching adults 19+ and young adults aged 16-19 the maths they need to support their first steps into work or further learning, progress in their current job role, or take a new career direction. Whatever their individual goal might be, you get to see the difference your teaching is making to lives on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent teaching and learning practice in both online and face to face environments.  Depending on the unique skills and experience you bring to the role, we have a range of teaching opportunities that you could be involved with: from working with learners at the most basic level to develop confidence and core skills on Multiply-funded provision, to teaching GCSE maths. As part of a small, supportive team of highly dedicated tutors you would be taking an active role in the shared planning of lessons and contributing to curriculum development and improvements.

English and maths tuition sit at the heart of our Learning Services provision. During the current climate of COVID recovery, we are ideally placed to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of our community’s learners so your awareness of the challenges and opportunities jobseekers are facing will help you to play your part in providing our high-quality service.

If this sounds like the right role for you, we look forward to receiving your application. Informal discussions about the role, our Service or the process of applying are also welcomed. Please call 01905 728537 and ask for Beccy Fraser if you would like to know more. The proposed interview date may be open to negotiation if planned holiday is a deterrent to application.

In return, you can look forward to (per annum, pro rata for part-time) :

• 25 days holiday (potential to match up to 30 days), plus bank holidays
• Local Government Pension Scheme
• Greener Car Scheme & Bike Scheme
• Access to a range of leisure, fashion, travel and lifestyle discounts
