Operational Property Management

Salary GR6 - £45,648 - £57,056 - Plus Market Supplement £6,243

If you could transform a great city, how would you do it?

Birmingham is a city on the move. Join our Property Services team and you can aim higher too.  We’re a city with a vision. For our communities. For our people. For the future. Opportunity doesn’t wait. And neither do we. We’re building the Birmingham of tomorrow, using the largest property portfolio of its kind. Together, we can change millions of lives for the better.

From reviewing services to developing strategy, your work will span our property portfolio. It’s a hugely varied role, which includes the opportunity to deputise for the Operational Property Manager. Taking the lead on property-related transformation projects, you can expect to work closely with senior officers and be involved in cross-directorate working groups.  Commissioning and managing external consultants and agents will also be key to the role.

Managing large projects and complex workloads will be second-nature to you. Your track-record in property should include delivering high-quality outcomes for a range of clients. Experience of monitoring performance, finances and budgets is essential.  With strong communication and negotiation skills, you also have the ability to manage and motivate other people.  A RICs qualification is vital.

Thrive in an environment that promotes diversity and inclusivity, healthy lifestyle choices, wellbeing and balance. We’ll empower you to be the best you can be, with coaching, mentoring and training programmes that meet your professional and personal development needs at every stage of your career with us.

We also offer:

  • Family friendly policies.
  • A range of benefits, including membership of the West Midlands Pension Fund, discounted gym membership and a confidential employee assistance programme.
  • 29 days’ annual leave increasing with length of service, plus the option to purchase additional days.

You must upload a CV and Supporting Statement via the miscellaneous attachment on to your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification. If you do not attach your Supporting Statement, your application will not be considered.

Closing date 30 October - 12 Noon - Applications will be shortlisted weekly
