Senior Administration Officer

Actual Salary £16,837 - £19,013

35 hours Monday-Friday 7.45am - 3.15pm Term Time Only

To support our continued expansion the Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Senior Administration Officer, for this busy and challenging role from September/October 2022. The successful applicant will join our existing highly committed and supportive admin team.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organise and monitor support systems, and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of administration policies
  • Provide support, advice and guidance on administrative issues to senior staff, governing body and others
  • Liaise with other staff, pupils, parents/carers and external agencies
  • Develop and maintain recording and information systems, including personnel staff.
  • Undertake analysis and interpretation of data, and produce detailed reports and complex information
  • Responsible for completion and submission of forms, returns etc., including those to outside agencies
  • Produce, and respond to, correspondence
  • To provide confidential assistance to the Headteacher including undertaking a full range of secretarial and administrative duties and ensuring the efficient and effective running of the Head Teacher’s office and daily business.
  • To be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the administration of all internal and external examinations within the school, including liaising with staff, pupils, invigilators and examination boards.
  • Liaise with the Clerk to the Governing Board regarding governance business including arrangements for meetings and refreshments.
  • Ensure that the Headteacher is properly briefed and has the relevant documentation prior to attendance at governing board meetings
  • Input all governing body meeting dates into the Headteacher’s and school calendar and Governor Hub in a timely manner.

Person Spec:

  • 3 GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent) including, Maths, English
  • NVQ Level 3/Evidence of the equivalent QCF credit value or qualification in a Business/Admin related discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of awarding organisations and the regulatory framework for administering examinations.
  • Willing to participate in training
  • Demonstrate a high degree of competence and confidence in using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ideally the successful applicant will have previous school based experience however this is not essential as training will be provided.
