Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

 

 

 

Grade: Grade 2 (SCP 3 - 5) actual salary £16,173 - £16,826

 

 

 

Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only + 5 training days

 

 

 

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (4.00pm on Friday).

 

 

 

Ormiston Meridian Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to assist with the daily clerical and reception functions and to provide first aid for students.

 

 

 

Key Duties / Responsibilities

 

 

 

  1. To act as first point of contact on reception for visitors to the academy and those making contact by telephone. To ensure that all visitors are signed in and issued with a visitor’s pass. To receive, sign for and distribute post coming in, and record all outgoing post. To carry out general clerical duties including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. To attend to minor student illnesses / first aid. To ensure the security and appropriate issue of student medicines retained in the academy. To contact parents / carers regarding the welfare of their child in the case of illness / accident. To check that students signing out have permission to do so. To access student records and respond to queries from students and staff. To assist with the arrangements of academy services including:
    • Injection days Medical records Free School Meals Contributing to the welfare of students
    To maintain and update student care plans, liaising with the appropriate staff and agencies. To update student records as required.

 

 

The successful candidate will need to,

 

 

 

  • Have a professional and friendly manner. Be extremely organised and able to prioritise a changing workload Have experience of working within a busy office environment. Be confident on a busy reception and in using Microsoft Word and Excel

 

 

You will need to provide an outstanding service and maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Have an eagerness to gain experience, expertise and professional development through this position. The successful candidate must also have proven good attendance and punctuality. A Level 2 qualification in both English and Mathematics is essential for this position.
