Attendance Support Team

Education Welfare & Court Officer 

£25,419 - £27,514 per annum

Scale 6

37 hours per week

Permanent 

1 full time, permanent, Education Welfare & Court Officer required to join the Attendance Support Team.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting school staff in improving school attendance and reducing persistent absence, identifying (and signposting to) appropriate support services for children, young people and their families and ensuring children within the borough are accessing their entitlement to educational provision.  In addition the post holder will investigate cases of irregular school attendance & subsequently facilitate Interviews Under Caution with parents and represent the LA as a prosecutor in the Magistrates Court for school attendance related matters.
