ICT Technician Apprenticeship - Level 3 Burton Borough School

Fixed Term for 18 Months plus 3 months End assessment period.

£177.97 per week (£4.81 per hour) minimum wage after 12 months

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated ICT Technician Apprentice who is aged 16 plus and interested in starting a career in a school, perhaps looking for your first job after leaving school or college, although there is no upper age limit.  You will combine work with training, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience.

We expect you to hold qualifications that demonstrate a good level of literacy and numeracy.  GCSE minimum Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics is desirable.  You must not be taking part in full time education.

You will assist with a range of duties to provide customer focussed, reliable operational and technical onsite support to the schools ICT network and associated services. Learn about installation, configuration and routine maintenance of ICT (software and hardware) and audio-visual equipment within established standards and guidelines.

You will study for a Level 3 apprenticeship in ICT.

The qualification content is tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day-to-day work, and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace. At the end of the training period, you will need to complete an End Point Assessment and relevant Functional Skills in maths and English (if not already achieved).

Burton Borough is a vibrant and inclusive mixed Community School of 1170 students, situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border within the pleasant market town of Newport.  Our location provides easy access to/from Shrewsbury, Stafford, Telford and Wolverhampton.  The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced clearance for the school.
