The Role

Accountancy Assistant (Creditors)

Agile working with a 40% minimum office based.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and self-motivated person with good communication skills to join our hard-working and friendly team.

You will be providing the Council’s creditor payment function including the checking and inputting of invoices. Amongst other duties you will be responsible for setting up new creditors on the Council’s financial system, carrying out regular payment runs and advising and assisting budget managers with queries.

As with all roles with the Council we look for employees to demonstrate commitment to delivering the Council's values of great customer service, openness and accountability, innovation and improvement and fairness and respect.

 

We also seek candidates who will be responsible for championing and demonstrating the Council’s Leadership Behaviour Framework by inspiring, communicating, collaborating and empowering self and others and leading by example.

Key Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • 5 GCSE’s to include English and Mathematics at grade A – C (or equivalent).
  • Experience in an administrative role in a busy office environment, ideally within a creditor payments section.

Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate with experience of using Windows based software packages
  • Preferably local government finance experience
  • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and attention to detail.
