Salary: G12 £46,662 - £52,213 per annum

We are looking for a manager who is able to lead the team through a period of organisational transformation and remodelling of its service

You will be a forward thinking professional who has an interest, knowledge and experience of leading a social work team. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of change who are forward thinking and have a proven track record of partnership working.  

The successful candidate will able to lead a team to support statutory assessments, functions, promoting strength based outcomes with young people preparing for adulthood and established adults, with a range of needs inclusive of complex Mental Health needs.

You will have a sound working knowledge and an ability to evidence your experience when working with multi-disciplinary teams, this includes agendas around TCP, Section 117 and CHC.

You will also be a motivated and resilient individual that can work on their own initiative as well as influence and encourage your team and wider partners when managing difficult situations relating to complex needs of people, whole system change and innovative solutions around best use of resource.

There is an exciting opportunity to join Walsall Council, bringing your skills and motivation to our Adult Social Care Directorate and leading, in the main, our Mental Health Assessment and Care Management team.

You will also have an opportunity to support the delivery of new and evolving ways of working across the local landscape, promoting seamlessness of approaches, strong partnership working and a focus on supporting people with their strengths and ongoing independence. 

About the role:

The role will involve operational day to day management of all elements of the team including supervision of Advanced Practitioners and oversight and support of all the teams’ functions.

About you:

  • You will need to lead and manage the team by supporting and motivating staff to work purposefully and cohesively in order to promote positive outcomes for adults.
  • You will also need to have the ability to negotiate, lead and influence multi-agency planning, review, decision making and collaborative working
  • To maintain current working whilst developing new models and approaches to customer needs. 
  • The experience of the successful candidate will also benefit from knowledge and insight into delivering services that span across children and adults, thus managing a seamlessness of approach for people into adulthood, as well as older people with Adult Social Care needs and additional Mental Health

Important:
It is essential for anyone applying for this post to have experience of working with people with Mental Health conditions and have a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.  

*Please note that experience as an Advanced Practitioner and a Post Qualifying Award is required i.e. Best Interest Assessor /Practice Educator/AMHP
