GR5 £36,371 - £44,624

Permanent Positions x 2

Client Financial Services is a unique team responsible for conducting the financial assessments of adults who receive care services provided by Birmingham City Council. Client Financial Services also handle the financial monitoring of over 3000 accounts, administer Birmingham City Council's Direct Payment system for providing care, and also oversees the Appointee and Court Deputy service, which assists vulnerable citizens to manage their finances. In addition to all of the above, Client Financial Services provide advice and information for citizens and staff alike on all aspects of the financial elements of the care process.

We are currently recruiting to two positions within our management team - one position within our Appointee and Court Deputy service, and the other within our Financial Assessment service.  We value flexibility in our teams, so you may be asked to work within any of our departments depending on your experience and the needs of our service, but all relevant training will be provided.

The ideal candidate for either of these positions will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills, experience of supervising staff and project management, and the ability to deal with performance management and capability issues in line with internal guidance and procedures.  We are looking for individuals to join our team who can hit the ground running, so previous managerial experience in a financial or care background is highly desirable.

For the position in the Appointee and Court Deputy service we are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals who have knowledge and experience of dealing with the Court of Protection, Office of Public Guardian (OPG), and also experience of Appointeeship and Deputyship Case Management.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a presentation as part of the interview process.  Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing 15 August.

Previous applicants need not apply.

When applying, you are strongly advised to pay particular attention to the person specification and job description.

You must upload a Supporting Statement via the miscellaneous attachment on to your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification. If you do not attach your Supporting Statement, your application will not be considered. Please do not attach CVs as we do not accept them.

If you are successful, an enhanced DBS check is required before you can start.

Interviews for this post will take place virtually via video conferencing. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further information.
