Job Details

Dudley Home Improvement Service provides a valuable service throughout Dudley borough assisting vulnerable, older and disabled residents to remain independent safe and warm, by finding ways to adapt, repair or maintain their own homes.

This role will see you supporting both our caseworkers and technical staff by ensuring that all administration and record keeping is maintained to a high standard to enable the team to deliver grant applications, energy advice and building works across both the public and private sector.  

Working within a busy team, both at home and within the office as required, the successful candidate is likely to be an enthusiastic and responsible team-player, who is committed to high standards of customer care and able to work unsupervised and perform well to targets and deadlines. You should also display a real commitment to and empathy with the needs of older and disabled people and have a sensitive and discrete approach to confidential information.

The role is a full-time role but is available for Job Share by up to two candidates.

The candidate(s) will be 'Agile Workers' expected to spend some time in the office and some time working at home.

Candidates for this post should have an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people to remain independent, safe and warm in their own homes and an appreciation of the link between housing and health. To succeed in this role you should have an appreciation of Disabled Facilities Grants, adaptations, home repairs and improvements, energy issues and the welfare system. 

Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, applicants should be highly organised and possess good I.T. skills.
