About the role
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual who would like the opportunity to contribute to our work shaping Warwickshire’s transport infrastructure.
In this role you will be joining a team dedicated to delivering high quality walking and cycling infrastructure where you can expect to have a varied, challenging and rewarding workload. You will lead the development of projects in our ambitious and growing programme of funded cycling infrastructure schemes. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of transport policies including the completion of a new Active Travel Strategy and Warwickshire’s first Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan which sets out our ambitious plans to make walking and cycling the natural choices for shorter journeys and outdoor recreation.
Key skills and experience required
To be successful in this role you will need to be motivated, creative, organised and willing to take responsibility for the success of your activities. You will need good analytical skills to develop detailed understanding of transport problems and to identify, explore and develop solutions. As you will be working with and alongside a wide range of internal and external colleagues, partners and clients, you will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be used to providing technical information to varied audiences.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to start or progress your career in transport planning. You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent). Previous experience in transport planning or related activity is desirable, but not essential as on-the-job training will be given.
