Job Details

We want to ensure that every resident has the skills needed to find a good job and progress at work, and that businesses in the region have access to support that will accelerate productivity and deliver economic growth. 

Our Economic Delivery, Skills and Communities team has made great strides in delivering programmes to support these objectives, but we want to do more.  

As Delivery Manager (Operations) you’ll provide strategic and operational management of our funded skills programmes and ensure they are delivered effectively across the West Midlands. 

You’ll play a leading role in working with a range of training providers and key strategic stakeholders in reshaping the skills landscape and our local economy, forging better futures for millions of people, this is a crucial role in the delivery of devolved skills programmes.

With multiple funding streams and more to come – we anticipate having over a billion pounds worth of funding over the next 5 years.  You’ll have a unique opportunity to shape how we deliver skills programme and put ideas into action.

About you

You’ll be working within the skills and employability sector and be looking for a role that allows you to get involved with funding skills programmes.  You’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of the skills sector and government funding streams. 

We are looking for someone with good people management skills, understands how to have difficult conversations and can coach and develop the people you manage. 

Being able to manage relationships with training providers, which includes contract management, programme compliance and project implementation is essential.
