East Staffordshire Borough Council provides seven public toilet facilities across Burton, Uttoxeter and the surrounding villages, serving the needs of residents and visitors to the area. Historically the authority has achieved numerous accolades relating to these premises and strives to continue to provide a quality service.

In this role, you will be responsible for the opening and closing of the Council’s public conveniences located throughout the Borough and continuing to maintain these facilities to the award winning cleanliness standards expected by users. You will be required to drive a Council vehicle around East Staffordshire to open and close the public conveniences at the scheduled times or as agreed with the Operations and Fleet Manager.

Previous experience of cleaning and the use of cleaning chemicals is essential. The successful applicant should have the ability to organise themselves in order to deliver high cleaning standards. Experience of cleaning of public conveniences as well as the use of scrubber/dryer equipment would be desirable along with an understanding of COSHH and its application.

Candidates should have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to use their own initiative, whilst remaining calm under pressure.

A full driving licence is essential.

The hours of work are Thursday to Saturday inclusive, with a split shift : 6.00 am to 12.00 noon and 4.00 pm to 8.30 pm.

There is also a requirement to work on public and bank holidays to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective service.
