Apprenticeship minimum wage applies- currently £4.81 per hour for the first year for apprentices over 19 years. After the first 12 months the salary will increase to minimum wage per age, further information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates 

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. As a team member of the school, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. 

You need to be organised and have a willingness to study towards an apprenticeship whilst working. 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + PD days) Monday – Friday. Holidays must be taken during school holiday periods only. 36 hours per week includes staff meetings, training programme and study time.

We expect you to hold qualifications that demonstrate a good level of literacy and numeracy. GCSE Grade A – C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics is essential. As part of this placement, you will be expected to undertake off the job training.

THE QUALIFICATION

You will study for a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 Early Educator and a package of other qualifications.   

OR

You will study for a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 Teaching Assistant and a package of other qualifications.

Supportive training will be provided.
