East Staffordshire Borough Council (ESBC) run and operate a diverse portfolio of premises ranging from the historic Stapenhill Cemetery, Burton Town Hall and Market Hall buildings through to the more modern Millers Lane Waste Management Depot. These locations provide a place for ESBC staff and customers to work and interact, and the upkeep of these premises is of the utmost importance.

The post holder is required to work within the multi-disciplined Technicians team through provision of day to day support and works allocation using the Council's Resolve system. It will also involve the overseeing and management of a number of contracts associated with the upkeep of Council premises. The post holder is expected to have in place a schedule of planned maintenance to ensure premises operate at their maximum capacity, with minimum disruption to staff and customers. All documentation for buildings must be kept up to date and available to building managers working out of the various locations.

The role also has line management responsibility for a small in-house cleaning team.

Experience of property maintenance is essential. With the role requiring liaison with a varied number of stakeholders across various levels inside and outside of the organisation, you should have good communication skills with a customer focused approach. A good understanding of Health and Safety Regulations including COSHH is also essential.

Full driving licence.

The post holder must be prepared to be on call out duty for out of hours work as well as being available outside of normal office and weekends when required.

The hours of work are 37 hours per week in accordance with the Council's flexible working hours scheme, with a requirement to work out of office hours and weekends when required. An additional payment is made for on call duties.
