The Role

Adult Social Care in Worcestershire is changing - be part of our transformation journey!

As part of the Transformation of Mental Health Social Care in Worcestershire we have an opportunity for a Social Care Worker role within South Worcestershire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team in the delivery of Adult Mental Health Social Care and Support in the South Worcestershire area.

We are an experienced and supportive team. We have very strong links with health colleagues, and we work closely with our statutory and voluntary sector colleagues.

The successful candidate will be supporting the team in providing social interventions that are based upon strength-based recovery practice and a social wellbeing approach that embraces social care, including safeguarding, the Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

You will need to be a confident communicator and can be creative, innovative and search for solutions that are not always obvious; and have a drive for developing links within the local community and voluntary sector.

As a Social Care Worker, you will be expected to manage your own cases, identifying any Adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect. For such Safeguarding cases you will then work alongside a qualified Social Worker.

You will be supported to manage your own caseload which will include the development of appropriate support plans and working closely with people until you are confident that you have managed to make some positive changes in their life.

You will receive regular supervision alongside weekly team reflective meetings and be working in a team of motivated, dedicated, and friendly colleagues. In Worcestershire we also provide flexible and mobile working, with supporting technology, enabling you to work from a range of office bases, touch points and home.

If you would like to find out more about the post, please contact Aaron Dodd, MH Area Manager (South): ADodd@worcestershire.gov.uk
