The Role

Worcestershire County Council are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and pro-active permanent Caretaker working a 35 hour week and based out of County Hall. 
Working as part of a small team reporting to the Caretaking Team Leader the successful post holder will have a good understanding of operational building management including knowledge of current health & safety legislation including fire safety and legionella management. 
Candidates with a trade such as plumbing, painting/decorating, carpentry or electrical would be desirable although not essential.
The undertaking of porterage tasks will also be required including the setting up and clearing away of furniture. Support to the Facilities Manager will also be expected with regards to the management of Health and Safety on site.  
The successful candidate must be able to drive and hold a clean driving licence, the ability to drive a fork lift truck would also be an advantage but not essential.  The role includes the provision of professional facilities management support to a number of Council owned and operated buildings.
The role requires a flexible approach to work including working between the hours of 0630 to 1830 Monday to Friday on a shift pattern and to suit the needs of the business.  Occasional weekend and evening work is also available on an 'as and when' overtime basis.  
The successful candidate must be confident, practical, trustworthy and reliable, be physically fit (heavy lifting is required – manual handling training will be provided) and in good health.  Must ensure attention to detail and take pride in the work that they do and be able to work independently or as part of a team.  Must be able to work under pressure and to deadlines, producing work to the required standards and to agreed timescales
