Hours:

30 hours per week or equivalent to four days, fixed term contract for one year.

Solihull Council is looking for a talented communicator to join its central communications team, supporting the Fostering Team’s recruitment activities and plans.  You will need to have top notch communication skills; experience of working with a range of organisations and be looking for a new challenge. You will also need to have experience in social media, digital communications and be an excellent writer.

Based in Solihull town centre the job is a varied mix of communications, PR and marketing, with a little consultation and engagement thrown in. 

In this role you will manage a new Fostering recruitment campaign and develop communication plans and strategies to maximise the effectiveness of this investment.  You will also deliver other communications plans, content and social media to support the Fostering Team’s stakeholder management and engagement work.

The job is a fantastic opportunity to develop communication skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.  The role has a practical focus and a clear target for success, more foster carers for Solihull.

If the successful applicant has had a short career break, training will be provided to refresh their communication skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The post offers a flexible work pattern as it is four days (30 hours) per week and will allow the post-holder some flexibility to design a work pattern to fit around any existing commitments.
