Delivery Manager – Waste Operations

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our waste operations and drive innovation and improvement across the service.

Warwickshire County Council manages over 275,000 tonnes of municipal waste every year. We directly operate 8 household waste recycling centres, 3 waste transfer stations and a small fleet of vehicles with about 60 in-house operational staff.

You will be leading well-established and high performing team and will work in partnership with our district and borough councils, and with the private sector, to ensure our relationships are productive and professional. We will trust and empower you to build relationships, take responsibility and make decisions, and lead others to do the same.

Our direction is clear – we’re making Warwickshire the best it can be for everyone. We’re proud of the service we deliver, but know that to progress, we must continue to adapt and improve and it’s our teams of dedicated people who will make this happen.

As a waste management professional, you will know that waste operations need to be continually refined to ensure they are customer focused and working as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Our infrastructure and network of suppliers offer exciting opportunities for diversification and generating more commercial revenue, so there will be ample opportunity for you to apply your commercial acumen.

The Council is committed to making Warwickshire the best it can be, sustainable now and for future generations, and this role will ensure our recycling centres reuse, recycle, compost and recover value from as much of our waste as possible.

This is demanding and challenging role but for the right person it is a great opportunity to take responsibility for a service make a real difference. If you’re someone who is prepared to get stuck in, who wants to do the best job possible, who approaches everything with passion and purpose, then we want you to work for us. You’ll be able to apply your knowledge and abilities in a place that matters to local people and communities.
