The Undergraduate Construction & Surveying Trainee programme will provide you with an exciting alternative to full-time education and create an opportunity for you to gain valuable work experience, skills and qualifications with one of the largest employers in the area.
The training programme will incorporate:
- Trainees will be released from the workplace usually one day per week to undertake a Chartered Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6). Although from time to time they may attend extra days or for block weeks.
- Work experience will focus within Housing Asset Management & Development - but may also include placements within other sections of Housing Services.
- All trainees will be allocated a designated mentor.
As an Undergraduate Construction & Surveying Trainee, you will develop a wide range of skills to prepare you for your future career. Once you have learnt the basics you will be given the opportunity to gain more responsibility, putting your new skills and training into practice.
Key requirements:
- No formal experience within the construction industry is necessary but you will need to have a significant appreciation and general understanding of the industry, including Government initiatives and economic pressures.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
- Minimum of 2 'A' levels or equivalent at Grade C or above in a relevant discipline with a willingness and desire to undertake formal professional development.
- The ability to undertake extensive academic research and produce written documents, reports and projects.
