Job title: Research Lead x2

Location: Staffordshire Place 1 (Stafford), with flexible working options

Salary:  £38,553- £42,614 per annum

Contract type: 37 Hours per week | Full time – 12-month internal secondment or external fixed term contract.

About the Insight Team:

Our highly skilled team works collaboratively to support the organisation to be insight led, in shaping strategy and decision making, to deliver improved outcomes for the people of Staffordshire. On a day-to-day basis the team provides high quality strategic insight and intelligence, aligned to the priorities of the County Council and Staffordshire, that is used to shape and influence delivery of the Council’s Strategic and Delivery Plans.

About the role

We are looking for two experienced insight professionals, with a proven track record in designing, leading and delivering high quality strategic insight projects, that will really make a difference to the lives of people living in Staffordshire.

As a key member of the Insight Team, you will be working on a wide range of innovative and influential insight projects, with the opportunity to work across council directorates and further hone your data analysis and visualisation skills, using tools such as Excel, Power BI and GIS.  

To be successful in the role you will bring:

  • An analytical and inquiring mind.
  • Quantitative and qualitative research skills and experience.
  • Confidence in translating complex findings into insight and intelligence that informs the most senior levels of an organisation.
  • A background in leading projects and of building and maintaining positive, proactive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel skills, ideally including the use of Power Query.
  • Experience of using data and insight to tell an influential story, preferably through the use of visualisation tools such as Power BI.
