Warwickshire Youth Justice Service is a multi disciplinary team comprising of workers from Warwickshire County Council, Police, Health and Probation. We also work in partnership with Barnardos who provide a remand-fostering scheme.

The Role

We are looking for a qualified social worker experienced with young people, victims and their families to contribute to the work of the team that is varied interesting and demanding. The work will include direct work with young people and their families on both voluntary prevention and statutory interventions, court work, report writing, managing court orders, and possibly group work.Knowledge of the Youth Justice System is not essential as training and support through supervision will be provided. Training will meet the HCPC requirements. Applicants must be willing to participate in a Saturday Court Duty Rota, following training, once every four weeks and working county wide.

Key Requirements

There is a requirement to work in partnership within the criminal justice system, attending police interviews as appropriate adult, Criminal Courts as court duty officer and other forums such as Young Offenders Institutions, therefore the candidate will needs to be able to advocate fro the young person in formal settings.
