Information Rights Officer
The Information Management service are responsible for supporting all Warwickshire
County Council business units on information access rights, data protection and privacy. We are looking for an additional interim post to support the current workload. This post will be reviewed as part of the change to data protection law coming in 2018.
37.0 Hours per Week
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
The role will support the high demand for information requests, dealing with the public, liaising with social workers, other staff and external organisations to locate and process requests. It does involve working with very sensitive and sometimes explicit information in case files and hence there is a high emotional demand. However it is a rewarding role serving the public and supporting adults who are or have been in receipt of care. We offer an opportunity for you to receive training and advance your career in customer service and information management/governance, with plenty of opportunities to gain more experience and be supported by our team of professional information staff. Consideration can be given to reduced hours, flexible working, part qualification/training for role. Exceptional qualified candidates may be offered a higher salary.

You will need to have some experience of dealing with the public, handling information requests and very confidential customer information and case records, ideally in a local government social care, health or police context. Part of your role will mean you deal with some very sensitive and emotional information in care records, as well as public information that we release. You will need to have a flexible and open approach to learning, an appetite and enthusiasm for understanding information legislation and using technology.
