plus market factor of £1500 for 2 years plus experience working with children and families, and essential car user allowance, car leasing scheme, a commitment to mobile working through the provision of tablets and mobile phones to support social work practice. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker position within the Parenting and Assessment Team. This role will involve working with a Team of family assessment workers who undertake parenting assessments, direct parenting work contributing to assessing and improving parenting capacity. The parenting assessment team are required to write parenting assessment reports for Court as well as for the purposes of child protection plans and work alongside professionals from a variety of services to ensure that children needs are being met within the care of their parents
You will become part of a supportive team and will receive regular, good quality, supervision and excellent training and development opportunities and a career path to progress your social work journey. You will either have a recognised social work qualification such as Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, or Social Work Degree, or be in the process of obtaining your social work qualification as a NQSW. If you are a NQSW, then Telford & Wrekin Council will support you through your ASYE.

We are looking for Social Workers who are confident in managing a complex caseload, which has included the completion of C & F assessments, child protection investigations, working with court cases, initiating care proceedings, progressing children through the adoption process or to permanency through long term fostering and have a good working knowledge of mental health, domestic abuse, substance misuse and pre birth assessments. We would also encourage NQSW’s who are keen to develop their social work skills whilst being supported through the ASYE.
