Working Pattern

The Leaving Care and Asylum Service is countywide having two office sites in the Warwick and Bedworth districts of the county. The Service aims to support young people and care leavers in achieving the best possible outcomes. It benefits from having a stable and committed staff group whose work is underpinned by legislation and guidance and a comprehensive improvement plan that draws upon multidisciplinary working.

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

The role is to show leadership to the Service ensuring that statutory requirements are met and that improved outcomes are achieved for young people. The operations manager will need to be visible across the whole service and be involved in a range of strategic service developments for these groups of young people. It will require the day to day management of the Service and investment in staff development ensuring that a consistent service is delivered across the county from a skilled and committed staff group.

The selection process will include a presentation to a group of young people.

Key Requirements

Knowledge of relevant Child Care and Leaving Care legislation and guidance.

Ability to show leadership, direction and make informed decisions.

Ability to be organised and prioritise - to readily produce information and reports.

Partnership working skills and ability to negotiate.

Ability to manage change, to introduce new ideas and work effectively through and with the staff group and others.

Flexible approach to work and confidence to delegate, monitor and review activity.
