Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint to a key post within the Children and Young People service area.

The Head of Child Protection will strategically lead the front door (including the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) and locality services responsible for safeguarding children and young people.

The post holder will manage a broad portfolio, and as such will need to maintain efficient and effective delivery, whilst responding positively to changing demands and meeting the needs of a diverse, local community.

The post holder requires a strong strategic background to direct and manage the ‘whole family’ MASH, ensuring early identification of risks to children, young people and vulnerable adults are effectively managed, with improved interventions, decision making and outcomes. Further, as a key player in the transformation of Wolverhampton’s Children’s services, you will innovate and challenge to achieve further success in this area, improving outcomes and reducing inequality. Championing partnership work to further develop integrated service provision and pro-active interventions with children and young people, you will lead the safeguarding agenda, instigating change and welcoming new ways of working.

You will have a background in safeguarding and a successful track record of management across the full portfolio within Children's Social Care. Highly successful, you will have developed innovative new ways of working, with proven experience of driving change, keen to challenge the norm. Creative and solutions focused, you will be able to build positive working relationships with stakeholders, engaging with a wide variety of audiences. Passionate about success, you will be a confident individual who will want to build and improve what is already a high achieving service.
