Cover supervisor required April 2023 

2 days per week 8.30am-3.30pm Thursday and Friday

Scale 3 £11.18 - £11.39 depending on experience 

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team here at Holmer Lake Primary. As a member of the support staff team, you will play a key part in meeting the current and future needs of our pupils.

To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

  • Support the aims, values and ethos of the school.
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of learning.
  • To support the class teacher to prepare resources/tasks and mark pupils’ work.
  • Update class and school displays to promote teaching and learning.
  • Carry out small group interventions.
  • Occasional cover supervisor responsibility.
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, behaviour and attendance following the staff code of conduct.
  • Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the head teacher.
  • To effectively use ICT to support learning.
  • To effectively use other technology or equipment e.g. video, photocopier, laptop.
  • To understand relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Have a general understanding of the new curriculum and national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies.
  • To have a basic understanding of child development and learning.
  • To have the ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
