Registration Service Officer

The Herefordshire Registration Service is looking to recruit a Registration Service Officer on a fixed term contract to 6 September 2019

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Registration Service which has the statutory responsibility of registering life events. Previous experience of registration is not essential as full training will be provided.

The post will be based at the Register Office in Hereford and Ross library but applicants will be expected to travel throughout the county.

The work is interesting and demanding. You will need to be as equally at ease registering deaths with distressed relatives as conducting marriage ceremonies before large groups of people. Good communication skills, IT skills, neat and legible handwriting and a meticulous approach to detail are essential skills.

Our customers have come to expect a high level of service and applicants must have a positive attitude towards customer care and the motivation to provide a first rate service.

Flexibility over working hours is essential, as will the need to be available to work at weekends and bank holidays. These are permanent contracts based on annualised hours at 456 hours per annum.
